Annata Photography & Design

  1. alicekipps asked: Hey, thanks for following. You have an amazing blog - nice to see something original. Plus your theme is great! :) :) x

    You’re welcome. :)

Thank you! I try to be as original as possible. It’s hard these days when every thing’s been done.

  3. elestrial asked: What are your long-term goals with photography?

Let’s see. At some point, I’d like to take classes for it. I’m not sure if I want to fully go to school for it or just take classes to gain more knowledge. I think I’d like to go to school for graphic design.

But I’d definitely like to take quite a few of classes. [As I repeat myself]
I would love to have my own studio one day, or at least work in one for a while. Finding better locations to shoot at would be great.
Of course I would like to have a bunch of lights and reflectors, and obviously a great camera. This camera to be exact. :)

Also, I want to shoot at night. I want to master scenery and also infrared photography. There’s so much I want to do that I can’t list everything.

My main goal is to be that photographer right in front of the stage shooting musicians at their biggest shows. I absolutely LOVE band photography. But I want to do everything. ♥

  4. This is an example of my retouch work. I took this photo of my good friend Alyssa shortly after getting into photography. At that time, I didn’t know much about my camera and therefore, didn’t ever mess with my manual settings. If I remember correctly, I’m sure I had my camera’s settings on auto, with an ISO of 1600, and no flash. All my photos looked good on the camera screen, but once I got a look at them on the computer, I was no longer happy. They were awfully grainy. At first, I had thought that the orange/yellow color was what I wanted; because I wanted that old vintage effect. Well, I couldn’t edit around it with Photoshop at the time. My knowledge of the program was extremely new and I wasn’t sure what to do. So I played with the levels to darken my shadows and hide the grain. Then I applied grungy textures to help hide the bad quality.
Months and months later, I was going through all the photos I had taken and came across this set. By that point, I knew much more about Photoshop, so I had decided to open a few photos and see if I could fix the color.I was happy to find out that it wasn’t hard to bring real color back into the photos. Unfortunately, I still had the grain, so I had to darken my shadows again.
The first photo is obviously the original photo. The second is just an edit without color correction. The third is only color correction without any extra editing. :)

  5. This is a profile I made for my “fan pet” on the website Subeta.net. Click on the picture to see the live profile.
The drawing of the [Tim Burton] Mad Hatter type pet was a commission I asked for from a friend. The story is from part of the script of the tea party when Cheshire takes Alice to the hair and the hatter in Alice in Wonderland 2010.
A lot of time and a LOT of effort when into this profile, and I am VERY happy with the outcome.

  9. visiondesignandgraphics-deactiv asked: Annata,
I was just surfing tumblr and came across your post. My name is Sam Platt and I am the Associate Dean of the Graphic Art program at Stevens Henager College, upon reading your post was wondering; because you sound like you play around a lot in photoshop, if you have ever considered a degree in Graphic Design. I am not trying to recruit you to attend SHC, however from one creative to another I was wondering if you have ever considered it?
    Thanks,
    Sam

I’m sorry it took me so long to answer this. The only reason I waited was because you sent this message when I had nothing but a single post on my blog and no work to show. Now I have a couple images up, and my blog’s layout. Now you can see some of what I’m capable of.

To answer your question, I have considered going to school for graphic design. I just haven’t been sure on what to do lately. Everything I know is self taught, but I would love a chance to have some education behind the things I create.

If you see this post and that I have answered your question, I can give you my email. :)

  10. gregkent asked: Thanks for the follow! I look forward to following you :)I hope you get the chance to check out my stuff and maybe reblog/recommend me to friends if you like what you see? I'm just here to meet some cool new people and hopefully get my voice heard along the way! Thanks again for the follow!

You’re quite welcome! I find your photos very interesting. :) I look forward to seeing more. And thank you for following me back!

I’m here for the same thing. I also want my talents to be shown to those who are willing to look. This blog is only a couple days old, so it’s really little and I only have a handful of followers, but hopefully that changes soon. :)
